The autumn conference season is in full swing, and over the next few weeks the HealthLumen team will be out and about at events spanning rare disease, cardiovascular health, health policy and HEOR.

First stop is the World Orphan Drug Congress Europe 2026 | Amsterdam Europe’s largest orphan drug & rare disease meeting. Harrison Goldspink will be joining the rare disease community for three days of discussion covering the orphan drugs value chain, from cell and gene therapy, genetic testing, and market access, to real world evidence.

Harrison will also be presenting our latest work, with a poster on “Modelling the Impact of Improved Diagnosis and Treatment with Silencers on Disease Progression in Hereditary Transthyretin Amyloidosis with Polyneuropathy (ATTRv-PN)” so do catch him at the poster sessions.

Next up, Laura Webber and Joshua Card-Gowers will be in London for two back-to-back Economist events: The Cardiovascular Health Summit and the Future of Health Europe

There is plenty on both agendas that resonates with our work, particularly around prevention, population health, earlier diagnosis and how health systems can respond to the growing burden of chronic disease. The cardiovascular summit is new this year, so we’re particularly interested to see how the discussion develops across policy, clinical practice and innovation.

Finally, Laura and Joshua will be heading to Vienna for ISPOR Europe 2026.

This year is a particularly significant one for us, with the first major findings being presented from the Global PAH program funded by AstraZeneca. This major research program examines the future impact of optimising guideline-directed medical therapy across multiple diseases and countries – both on potentially avoidable hospitalisations, and on the wider economic, societal and environmental consequences.

The findings will feature in a panel session at 08.00 on Weds 11th Program – ISPOR Europe 2026 “No Longer Inevitable: Avoidable Hospitalizations As a Catalyst for Health System Transformation”

As well as two poster presentations:

As always with such events, it is a good opportunity to step outside the day-to-day and hear some fresh thinking on the challenges of improving health outcomes that we are all trying to tackle. Harrison, Laura and Joshua are always keen to meet other people working across these areas, so please do reach out if you’re attending any of these conferences and would like to connect.
