Our powerful genetic database analysis and microsimulation modelling technologies enable us to deliver unprecedented accuracy for modelling the current and future burden of chronic and rare genetic diseases.
We are now expanding our team to include a Senior Epidemiologist. The candidate should have the skills as outlined below.
Primary responsibilities
- Provide scientific and methodological expertise to teams and clients on various aspects of study and model design to address research questions
- Epidemiological research using established methods and techniques
- Provide methodological insights and expert review to support studies
- Writing study protocols, statistical analysis plans and reports
- Development of new disease model concepts and related co-morbidities
- Managing up to 4 other staff members or external consultants, both at the project level and as a line manager
- Communicate regularly with your line manager and team regarding your progress
- Work with stakeholders to understand analysis and output needs, being the link between user need and technical development.
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver HealthLumen’s strategy and new software platform
- Lead on ensuring quality assurance of data inputs and outputs
- Work closely with our technical team to develop R-based automation tools and infographics
- Supporting new business development via proposal writing and attending meetings
- Develop abstracts, manuscripts and / or presentations to conferences for projects
- Additional tasks commensurate with your skillset
Key skills
- 4+ years experience of working in the field of epidemiology, with knowledge of non-communicable disease epidemiology
- Project management
- Working knowledge of R
- Excellent analytical skills
- Understanding, and ability to use, a range of research methods
- Data cleaning, management and manipulation skills
- Knowledge and use of data visualisation software
- Excellent knowledge of non-communicable disease epidemiology
- Excellent stakeholder management across large matrixed organisations
Qualifications
- MSc/PhD in epidemiology or a related field, plus sufficient experience relevant to this role

This is a remote role but candidates need to be within reasonable commuting distance of London to be able to attend 1-2 in-person meetings per month.
